Department of Mechanical Engineering SISTec -R has organized & conducted an expert session on "Light Weight Metallic Materials & recent trend in its development" by an eminent personality of research field Dr. D.P Mondal who is Principal Scientist, Advance Material & Processes Research Institute (AMPRI) Bhopal .

The session was conducted with a motto to make aware our students & faculty with recent development in research of light weight materials & its developing mechanism, further its future scope of application. In this session we were successfully achieved this objective to know latest insight knowledge about the relevance of light weight materials development & need for future.

The session was started with formal welcome of Dr Mondal in presence of Dr. Chetna Acharya, Vice Principal, SISTec- R & Mechanical department followed by lecture session & post session there was nice discussion with him for new possibilities. This session was attended by all the students of Mechanical Engineering, all faculty members & technical staff of the department. It was nice experience for all of us. 

 

Dr. D.P Mondal is Principal Scientist at AMPRI, who is  Doctorate & M.Tech in Metallurgical Engineering from IIT Khagarpur and B.Tech from Bengal College of Engineering, West Bengal. He published various research papers in international & National Journals of well repute. He involved in various government projects of defense & technology. He also acknowledge for his wonderful contribution by various awards and recognitions like

 

  • Binani Gold Medal, 2008, by IIM, Kolkata,INSA fellowship, 1997=1998,
  • National University of Technology, Pusan, South Korea,
  •  Visiting Scientist, IFAM, Bremen, 20-28th Aug, 2002
  • Hon. Secretary, IE(I), MPSC, Bhopal
  • National Scholarship, upto BE
