To foster innovation and expand our knowledge, the Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering organized a captivating Guest Lecture on September 9th, 2023. This enlightening event, held under the auspices of the IETE Student's Forum, delved into the fascinating realm of "Image Processing through Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning".

The distinguished speaker for this lecture was Dr. Manish Kashyap, Assistant Professor at Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology Bhopal (M.P). Dr. Kashyap commenced the lecture by providing a comprehensive introduction to Image Processing, highlighting its immense value for individuals and engineering students alike. He then proceeded to introduce a cutting-edge approach to the students, encouraging them to actively participate in various tasks within the GNU Octave Environment, utilizing their own smartphones.

Throughout the lecture, Dr. Kashyap demonstrated the process of importing images into the Octave environment, showcasing to the students how to perform a myriad of operations. These operations included grayscale conversion, color separation, and brightness enhancement, among others. Furthermore, he elucidated the applications of Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning through the utilization of Principal Component Analysis (PCA) on images.

In the final segment of the lecture, Dr. Kashyap graciously addressed the students' inquiries, providing valuable insights into the vast array of job and research opportunities that await them in the field of Image Processing.
