Mechanical Engineering

Department of Mechanical Engineering groom future engineer who can design and produce the tools, machines and all other mechanical equipment for various applications. Mechanical Engineering branch deals with all types of machinery in design, development, construction, production, installation and design industry. Mechanical engineering is a discipline of engineering that applies the principles of physics, Mathematics and material science for the analysis, design, manufacturing and maintenance of mechanical system. Mechanical Engineering provides a solid foundation for professional engineering practices. It is one of the oldest and broadest engineering disciplines. We at the Sagar Institute of Science, Technology & Research produce engineers who will become future driving force behind many of our technologies and industrial process including innovative product. We create the engineers who can work in extremely adverse conditions with full efficiency. We are developing students to use their concepts and principles in real world problems. Our Prime concern is to make student more dedicated towards the assigned task either in personal or professional life.

Programme Educational Objectives

PEO-01 Utilize the understanding of basic sciences and Mechanical Engineering in Industrial applications to prepare Students competent in the Industry.
PEO-02 To build up the capability to perform the research and development in the field of mechanical engineering.
PEO-03 Utilization of modern tools and methods for best possible results of problem of present Society and Industry.

Programme Specific Outcomes

PSO-01 Understanding of basic and specialized subjects of mechanical engineering and their relevance in solving complex engineering problems.
PSO-02 Design, analysis and solution of mechanical engineering systems to meet the needs of Industry and society with due consideration of public health, safety and environment.
PSO-03 Knowledge and understanding of mechanical engineering with module based learning to manage engineering projects in multidisciplinary surroundings as a team or a leader.

Programme Outcomes

PO-01 Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
PO-02 Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, reviewer search literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
PO-03 Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
PO-04 Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
PO-05 Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex Engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
PO-06 The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
PO-07 Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.
PO-08 Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practices.
PO-09 Individual and teamwork: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.

Dr. Abhishek Choubey completed his Doctorate of Philosophy in Mechanical Engineering on the topic of “Performance Prediction & Productivity Enhancement of Wind Turbine by Failure Analysis & its Rectification” in the year 2021 from Mewar University, Chittorgarh, Rajasthan. He has 17 years of vast experience in teaching and research. He is associated as an advisor member of various technical societies like SAE India, World Society of Sustainable Energy Technologies UK, African Wind Energy Association. He has completed the training of the Trainer Module of Royal Enfield & BMW.

He has qualified three times National Level Exam “GATE” in Mechanical Engineering and got a scholarship through MHRD, New Delhi for higher study. He has 9 years of experience in academics and 1 year of Industrial Experience in Bosch Ltd. He has 4 Research Papers to his credit published in which 2 in SCI Journal and 5 papers presented in various national and international conferences.
